Most technology today is built to hold your attention and sell it. We're building the opposite — AI that helps the people in a city find answers, get help, and feel more connected to where they live. That's what “AI for good” means to us. Here's what we promise.
Built to connect, not to divide.
So much of the internet makes money when people argue and keep scrolling. We don’t. Civilized exists to bring a community and its city closer — to surface what helps people, not what turns them against each other.
No ads. No selling your attention.
We will never run ads, sell your data, or use your community’s knowledge to train outside AI models. What people share with us stays theirs. We earn our place by being useful — not by keeping anyone hooked.
Good tools, in everyone’s hands.
The groups doing the most good often have the least to spend. So our core tools are free, our answers come straight from a community’s own words, and they work in whatever language someone speaks. AI shouldn’t be a luxury.
People stay at the center.
AI handles the busywork, but people are always accountable for the answers. We build in New Orleans, next to the people doing the work — every part of this started as something we heard at someone’s kitchen table.
