Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using civilized.org and the Civilized platform ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Description of Services

Civilized provides tools for nonprofits, city governments, and neighborhood organizations, including the Answers search bar integration, question analytics dashboard, and related services. The core platform is provided free of charge.

Account Registration

To use certain features, you must register by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
• Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates the rights of others
• Use the Services to send spam or unsolicited communications

Content and Data

You retain ownership of all content you provide to Civilized. By using the Services, you grant us a limited license to use your content solely to provide and improve the Services. We will not use your content to train third-party AI models or sell it to third parties.

Answers Search Bar

The Answers search bar generates responses based on your organization's published content. While we strive for accuracy, Civilized does not guarantee that all generated answers are complete or error-free. You are responsible for reviewing and maintaining the content that powers your Answers integration.

Intellectual Property

The Civilized platform, including its design, code, and brand assets, is owned by Civilized, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our platform without written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Civilized shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Services.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time by removing the Answers integration from your website and contacting us to close your account.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on our website.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
