How do I set up a contact us link?

The Contact Us link is a plain link to your organization's hosted Civilized chat page that opens directly into the contact-us prompt. No script is required, so it works anywhere you can add a link — a button, a navigation menu, or a block of text.

Note: The Contact Us link only works if your organization has set up its Contact Us Forwarding Email Address in the Settings → Widgets page of your Admin Dashboard. Without it, the link opens but messages have nowhere to go.

WordPress sites

Install the Civilized plugin (see How do I install the Civilized WordPress plugin?). Once active, the Settings → Civilized page shows your ready-to-copy Contact Us link.

Any other website

Your Contact Us link is unique to your organization. Find it in your Admin Dashboard under Settings → Widgets and copy it — it's ready to use as-is. Paste it into any page, button, or menu item that accepts a link. It opens in a new tab so visitors stay on your site, and you can change the visible text (for example, from “Contact Us” to “Get in touch”).
